This in-depth archeological tour has been designed in close cooperation with historians and archeologists from the Institute of Archeology in Samarkand and provides a unique perspective on the archaeological excavations undertaken on the territory of Uzbekistan, offering you a total immersion in historical and cultural heritage of the areas through which Silk Road tracks passed.
During the tour you will have the opportunity to retrace Jarkutan – one of the largest settlements of the Bronze Age in Central Asia; Hellenistic culture in Kampyrtepa – the city founded by Alexander the Great on one of the most important Amudarya River crossings, Buddhist sites of Karatepa and Fayaztepa; Kanka – one of the ancient and the largest city centers of Tashkent oasis; Shakhrukhia – ancient city founded by Timur on the bank of the Syr Darya river; Rivdad – the lost summer residence of Samarkand’s rulers and many others outstanding archeological sites.
In addition, you will visit Institute of Archeology in Samarkand with its unique museum displaying recent archeological finds. This tour will be led by professional archeologists of Tashkent, Jizak, Samarkand, Kashkadarya, Bukhara and Surkhandarya Province.

Tashkent – Samarkand – Bukhara – Shakhrisabz – Termez – Tashkent

Day 1. Tashkent.

Arrive in Tashkent international airport.

Day 2. Tashkent.

Visit "International caravanserai of culture of Ikuo Hirayama" under the Academy of Art of Uzbekistan with a display featuring artifacts from archeological sites of Kanka, Kampyrtepa, Dalverzintepa, and department dedicated to archeological site of Shakhrukhia (1c BC- 13c AD)at State Museum of the History of Timurids.
Transfer to the archeological site of Kharashkent also called Kanka (2c BC -12c AD).
Visit to the ruins of this ancient town and then drive to Shakhrukhia, ancient Fanokent (1c. BD -14 c.AD).
After excursion drive back to Tashkent.

Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 3. Tashkent – Samarkand.

Transfer to Samarkand. En route visit to the archeological site of Turtkultepa caravanserai (11th -13th cc.).
Arrival in Samarkand.
Sightseeing tour in Samarkand.
Overnight in Samarkand.

Day 4. Samarkand .

After breakfast visit the Museum under the Institute of Archeology, and Kafirkala archeological site (15 km south of Samarkand) and Jartepa archeological site (35 km east of Samarkand).
Sightseeing in Samarkand.
Overnight in Samarkand.

Day 5. Samarkand – Bukhara.

Transfer to Bukhara.
En route visit archeological site of Dabusiya (1c. BC- 18-19cc. AD), the ruins of Rabat Malik caravanserai (12c.) as well as Deggaron Mosque (11th c.).
Arrival in Bukhara.
After lunch sightseeing in Bukhara.
Overnight in Bukhara.

Day 6. Bukhara.

Visit to the archeological site of Paykent and its museum (60 km from Bukhara).
After lunch sightseeing in Bukhara.
Overnight in Bukhara.

Day 7. Bukhara – Shaqkhrisabz.

Transfer to Karshi (180 km).
Visit ancient settlements of Kasbi and Bazda as well as archeological site of Erkurgan.
Arrival in Shakhrisabz.
After lunch visit archeological site of Sangirtepa –the ruins of ancient town of Kesh (8c.-7c BC - 5c. AD).
Sightseeing in Shakhrisabz.
Visit Shakhrisabz Museum of Material Culture named after Amir Temur.
Overnight in Shakhrisabz.

Day 8. Shakhrisabz – Termez.

Transfer to Termez (300 km).
Lunch en route. Visit small museum displaying artifacts from ancient settlement of Jarkutan (14 -7cc. BC) and archeological site of Jarkutan.
Arrival in Termez.
Visit Archeological Museum of Termez.
Overnight in Termez.

Day 9. Termez.

Breakfast.
Full day sightseeing tour in Termez.
Visit ancient Buddhist monasteries of Karatepa, Fayaztepa and Khakim at Termizi memorial complex in Old Termez.
Afterward, visit Kyrk – kyz fortress, Khanaka Kokildora (16c.), Sultan Saodat complex of mausoleums.
Overnight in Termez.

Day 10. Termez – Tashkent.

Breakfast.
Transfer to the ancient settlement of Kampyrtepa (40 км from Termez).
After lunch transfer to the airport to take flight to Tashkent.
On arrival to Tashkent a farewell dinner with folklore show.
Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 11. Tashkent.

International flight back home.
